Chubby's new hair

I sent Chubby for grooming. Again.
Probably for more than a 100x already.
He's back looking happy and good. Decked out in his old yet comfortable blue Polo Tee.
I'm a bit ga-bla-fied by the stock market crashing (again).
What's wrong with the world?
I mean, usually humans invent things for certain purposes, basically, to serve us humans.
Like, cars, for example. They help us get from Point A to Point B.
Stock Market, for example, helps us to earn more money. Balance the world economy. In some way or another.
Then it had to crash. It JUST HAD to crash.
What's the reason behind it?
I mean, let's reverse the times back to when there was Adam & Eve... heck... maybe we can forward it abit more to the times of Robin Hood, or what about the Tang Dynasty era?
The stock market didn't exist back then, and there weren't so much complications.
But I guess just like cars that gets you to where you want, yet creates pollution for the world, the stock market earns alot of money for you, yet can make you a bankrupt overnight.
That aside, I have another deep question.
If the stock market crashed, and investors lose their hard-earned money.... where then, did ALL THE MONEY GO?
This is something that stumps me. It's like a problem that humans created ourselves to get ourselves into trouble.
And then there's all this old folks who invested their lifesavings and CPF into it and are now penniless.
It's really sad.
And then there's me, a fresh graduate who probably will encounter problems when I'm looking for a perm job later on, which is like.. SOON.
All this, add on to that recent China milk scare thing. I'm drinking milk as usual. Heck. Can't be bothered.
Just yesterday I went to TCC. Hey, come to think of it, it was the first time in my life I actually went to TCC. As with all new places that I go to, I had a long time looking through the menu to find a good and 'safe' drink that I could actually finish, since I was quite full from the previous dinner elsewhere.
The TCC I went to was at Great World. Nice ambience. There was even a bunch of kids celebrating birthday for their friend called Apple. I thought it was a really nice name, but needless to say, I don't know how long those friends of hers know her but it was quite obvious they were still making fun of her name. "Apple? I where got call you! I just now say Pear!"
Best of all, the drink I ordered was a nice milky froth I-Don't-Exactly-Remember-What-It-Consists, that is called Peach Me Up.
Cute isn't it?
It was some vanilla milk concoction that had a hint of Raspberry, topped with (my favourite!!) mint leaf. Well I didn't exactly eat the mint leaf. Any of you who had ever kept a mint plant will know that mints aren't exactly meant to be consumed RAW.
Because mint is just what it is. Mint. Period. You see, raw mint has absolutely NO sweetness in it. You would be better off eating raw red chilli because at least it's sweeter than raw mint.
And yes, if you were afraid I launch into a whole story about the history and uses of mint, I already did before in an old blog post so I won't do it again.
(Wait, did I hear you breathe a sigh of relief!?!)
Right now at this very moment, I am supposed to be standing atop Bukiit Timah Hill.
This hiking craze was started off by accident.
Des and I had sent Ivan to Autobacs for servicing and while we were stuck there, we walked over to the petrol station beside it to get some snacks. We discovered a little pathway behind the petrol station and being adventurous (actually we were looking for a proper place to sit down and have snacks), we decided to follow the little pathway.
There were stone benches located along it.
We sat down along one of them and had the nicest food in the world; Black Pepper Chicken pau, and a hot-dog looking Mexican-originated food. Both tasted great, and were washed down with a thirst-quenching and cold packet of Ribena.
Awesome!
I was so damn hungry prior to that so when I finally managed to eat, I was so happy, almost tearing with joy!!! Okay, exaggerating right?
We soon came to a road sign that actually pointed out that there was a World War 2 memorial situated nearby.
Now that got me excited.
I have this THING about old buildings that I like to look at.
It's a feeling of awe that I cannot explain. Old buildings give me a tinge of wonderment and sadness that I cannot put into words. It started off when Mum brought me and Kor Kor to Fort Canning... Eh? Is it call Fort Canning ar?
EH NOOOO... It's call Fort siloso. Where is Fort Canning??..
Aiya, heck. Anyway at Siloso, I found it absolutely cool when Mum explained that these were the very same buildings the soldiers had camped, fought and defended in, alhtough now I learnt that fought wasn't really part of it since the whole Fort was built facing the wrong direction (just so your history suck, the Japanese troop eventually took over Singapore by cycling.. CYCLING, mind you... across the Causeway).
Yes. They entered Singapore from her behind, as Hossan Leong sang in one of his songs. HAHAHAHA... Not that I'm being vulgar or anything.
So yea, another thing about hiking is the many insects and forest critters that you get to see along the way. Des got some crazy idea about being Lucky and the rest to hang at these heavily forested areas so that they can pit their skills against some wild putehs, or rather, not wild, but ESCAPED Putehs that used to belong to other people.
So yea, we didn't see any Putehs though we could hear them very well, but there were some wild looking birds that were bathing in a drain.
You can't tell but this photo was captured when I was quite close to them. Apparently they're quite used to being photographed.
